About Us

Charity United is a 501(c)(3) US Public Charity that provides humanitarian aid to children and civilians in need — including food, clothing, shelter, and education.

Charity United was founded in 2015 during the refugee crisis and has since expanded its efforts to provide humanitarian aid across several countries around the world. We collaborate with nonprofit organizations and grassroots groups in Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa, and New Zealand, delivering aid to children and families on six continents.

At Charity United, we believe that all children have the right to be cared for and protected— regardless of race, nationality, or creed. We also believe that the care and education we give to today’s children will shape the future of our world.

Although we started with emergency aid, our focus since 2019 has been on literacy and education.

Our Story

In November 2015, we established the Winter Clothes for Refugees movement to provide winter clothing to children and refugees traveling through the Balkans while fleeing war-torn countries. Civilians and children escaping conflict faced subzero temperatures during the Balkan winter, often lacking heat, shelter, appropriate clothing, or any means to obtain them.

Over the course of three months, we raised funds to purchase and distribute clothing and supplies and to assist an estimated 100,000 refugees as they passed the Macedonian-Serbian border.

As winter drew to an end, a new crisis unfolded. Political changes in Europe left tens of thousands of refugees, including thousands of babies and children, stranded in wilderness areas and sub-human camps throughout Europe; lacking necessities such as food, shelter, hygiene supplies, and the basics of survival.

We decided we were in this for the long haul. We would not sit by and watch while babies went hungry and children slept in flooded tents with muddy blankets. We formed Charity United, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization accepting tax-deductible donations.

Since then, Charity United has continued to provide aid to children, families, and other civilians in need throughout the world—whether that be food, shelter, clothing, education, hygiene supplies, or any other essentials of life.

In 2018, we began gradually shifting our attention and focus to projects that would address the root of the tragedies we saw around the world: education. Since 2019, our primary focus has been on literacy.
