Before and after photo. This is not the worst-case scenario, but this man definitely qualified for new shoes. His friend arrived in flip flops – and he got new shoes too. It’s below freezing and snow is in the weather forecast for this Sunday.
I told him that the shoes were a gift from people in America and Europe – people who were just mothers, fathers, students, and regular people. I told him I would show the photo to the people who paid for his new shoes.
He was very happy and he said “thank you, thank you, thank you” – to all of you.
We also had an old woman come through recently with nothing but wet socks and flip flops. When one of the volunteers gave her new shoes, she hugged him and thanked him over and over and over, telling him she would never forget him.
