They fell into the sea

A family, including a baby and a pregnant woman, fell into the sea on the way from Turkey to Greece. They would have all drowned. But they were saved by a Portuguese group. The water was very cold and this experience could make them more physically vulnerable for the remainder of their journey.

I met them later when they passed through Tabanovce on the way to Western Europe.

I gave them a Merino Wool baby blanket which was hand made by my neighbor, Jenni Lynne. You can see it here on the woman’s shoulders.

The man on the left spoke very good English. He asked me to thank Jenni, and to tell her that she did a great job.

“Tell her she is a real artist,” he said. “I would love to meet her some day.”

I wish this family the very best in their search for a better home.
